Anson Dorrance is an American soccer coach and former professional soccer player. He is best known for his remarkable career as the head coach of the University of North Carolina women's soccer team. He has one of the most successful coaching records in the history of athletics. Under Dorrance's leadership, the Tar Heels have won 22 of the 41 NCAA Women's Soccer Championships. Dorrance played a pivotal role in shaping the women's soccer landscape in the United States.
