LET’S DIVE IN ⬇️
Be Clever | Quick Reads 👀
Marcus Mariota has the ability to process quickly. A big reason why he was extremely successful at The University of Oregon.
Here is a funny story that Scott Frost told about Mariota at the Broyles Award ceremony: 👇👇
Why being a “quick processor” is big in basketball 🏀
“Principles vs plays.”
This is NBA trainer Noah LaRoche on creating “Improv” basketball players as opposed to “Stand up” players.
Improv players use cognition: the ability to Search, Decide & Execute skills at speed.
Spontaneity (improv) only arises after hours & hours of structured play w/ your teammates.
Improv, like basketball, is all about creating a “flow” or hive mentality w/ your teammates that opponents can’t predict.
Must Add Action 🎥
Wide Pin 📌 Touch Action
Dubs used this Action to close Boston out ☘️
Bonus: Luka processing.
Notice in these examples how quickly Luka can read the “tag” without even thinking about it.
“The secret to victory lies in the organization of the non-obvious.”
It’s a little thing, but Luka is always so organized & prepared to “read” the tag defender and to punish them for being a 1/2 step behind his processing speed.
The Power of Leadership 🗣️
Go out of your way today, to make someone’s day!
A special story on how Steph Curry makes sure his fans feel welcomed.
“The secret to victory lies in the organization of the nonobvious.” Steph has priorities organized.
All great cultures need disciples, when CULTURES are strong they’re self-policing.
When a culture is strong new people become the culture. When a culture is weak the culture becomes the new people.
Until next week!
