LEADERSHIP: THE POWER OF TRUTH IN COACHING
Set the Vision. Hold the Standard.
Too many athletes struggle with confidenceβnot because they lack ability, but because theyβve been fed what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.
Many coaches prioritize being liked over being honest. They sugarcoat feedback, hoping to build confidence, but all they create is false confidenceβa fragile foundation that crumbles under pressure. This is what's backward about coaching in our society.
When the game is on the line, reality hits hard, and players realize they were never truly prepared.
Great leaders tell the truth, even when itβs uncomfortable. They challenge their players & teammates, push them to grow, and hold them accountable to a higher standard.
Because coaching isnβt about being liked. Itβs about making an impact.
"If you want to be liked... you better go sell ice cream, because coaching ain't for you."
