Confidence 💭
💥 Running towards adversity versus running away from it 💥
2016 - Lost to UCONN 98-38 by 60 put the number 60 on his desk, bathroom stall, weigh room, locker room… everywhere!
2017 - Beat UCONN 66-64 (Same team)
💥 All year they stamped the number 60 on everything!
Confidence “Philly Story”
Last December, Trea Turner signed an 11-year $300 million contract with/ the Philadelphia Phillies.
He proceeded to play some of the worst baseball of his career.
As his performance plummeted, the Philly fans lost support, booing him ruthlessly.
Famously- a famous fan “The Philly Captain” posted a video that said let’s not boo Turner, let’s give him a standing ovation every time he comes to bat. “Our boy is in his head, he needs some love.” The fan acknowledged the confidence issue head-on, as opposed to allowing it to grow. The next night, Turner hit the game-winning RBI to give the Phillies the lead.
Since the ovations, Turner had played some of the best baseball of his career. Turner bought billboards around the city that said “Thank you, Philly.”

Our favorite quotes from Coach Schaefer:
Your best coaching job might not be when you win 20, it might be when you win 10 and were supposed to win 5
We couldn’t throw it in the ocean if we were standing on the beach during high tide 😂
